Our location is certainly our greatest feature.

Beneath every room's balcony is the Downie River. Its peaceful effects enhance the moments you spend here. Looking up and down the river you'll see the Jersey Flat and Durgan Flat Bridges. Above the river you'll see the Tahoe National Forest as it snuggles around the village of Downieville.

  • The Yuba and Downie Rivers will attract the painter and photographer, the fisherman, the gold seeker, or the swimmers in summer.
  • The Tahoe National Forest offers hiking, dirt bike and mountain bike riding.
  • Highway 49 is becoming a National Scenic Byway. It has been selected for the beauty of nature that surrounds it and the historic towns that it passes through. Casual tourists on motorcycles or family auto enjoy unexpected views of California.
